Why the Model Number Decides More Here
In a town built out in one go, the machines cluster. Same era of house, same era of appliance, and the likely part can be guessed before the van arrives. Hoover does not cluster.
So texting a photo of the model plate before the visit is worth more here than in a town that was built all at once. It decides whether the part is already on the van or has to be ordered after the diagnosis, and that decides whether this takes one visit or two.
The plate is inside the door frame on most washers, under the lid on a top-loader, and along the bottom edge or behind the kick panel on a dishwasher. A phone photo is enough.
What the Housing Figures Actually Show
This is not a town that argues for itself in the abstract. Nearly half of Hoover's houses were built in the 1990s and 2000s, so a great many machines here were bought at the same stage of a house's life and are reaching the same stage of their own. That is why the model number, not the address, is the first thing Aaron asks for.
Why a Hoover Address Tells Aaron Less Than You Would Think
Hoover covers about 50 square miles and spreads across two counties. I-65 and I-459 intersect inside the city, and US-31 runs through it. That is why a Hoover address tells you less than the same question would in a town you can drive across in ten minutes.
One Hoover Job
An LG front-load washer in Hoover filled, washed, and then sat there full at the end of the cycle. The drain pump had failed. Replaced on the visit, run through a cycle to confirm, done.
The drain pump is the failure Aaron sees most in Hoover. A drain pump does not usually fail on its own: it fails after running blocked. By the time the pump is the part being replaced, the blockage is usually the reason it needed replacing, which is why the filter gets cleared in the same visit rather than left for the next one.
A front-loader that will not drain is usually the pump, the filter in front of it, or something that got past both: a coin, a bobby pin, an underwire. All three are a same-visit fix.

Questions From Hoover
Do you cover Riverchase, Bluff Park, Inverness, Greystone and Ross Bridge?
All of them, on both the Jefferson County and the Shelby County side of the city.
How long does it take to get someone out?
Booking is usually a day or two out. If you call before noon and it genuinely cannot wait, same day is sometimes possible, but it is never promised. Hoover is a regular part of the week.
What does the visit cost before any repair?
$100. That is the service call, it covers the trip and a full diagnosis, and it comes off the repair if you go ahead.
My refrigerator has stopped cooling altogether. Can you help?
Call and describe it. Where the freezer is still freezing and only the fridge side has gone warm, that is a fault we take and usually a fixable one. If both compartments are warm it usually points at the sealed system, and Aaron will tell you on the phone whether it is a job he can take.
Are you insured?
Insured, yes, and a certificate is available on request.
Is there a warranty?
90 days on labor and on any part we supply. The exclusions are short and they are listed in full on the FAQs, which is the one place that carries the whole policy.
Can I get a price over the phone?
Not a real one. What you can get is a straight description of what the visit involves and what the service call costs.
Every Service, and the Page That Explains It
Each of these has its own page with what is covered and what the job usually involves.
