Aaron starts his day from his office in Gardendale, and most places he goes take no more than thirty minutes to reach, wherever he is coming from that day. That is the honest shape of the service area: a working radius rather than a marketing map.

He takes calls as they come and groups them by area where he can, which usually means a day that runs south, then east, then back north to Gardendale. A circle, ending up back at the office.

Call or text (205) 883-9703 with your town or zip code and you will get a straight answer on whether you are inside it.

The boundary

How Far, and Where It Stops

Thirty minutes is the working answer, and the boundary is set rather than negotiable. Aaron does not go out of his way, and he says so plainly instead of taking a job and resenting the drive.

If a job falls outside the area and he does decide to take it, there is $25 to $50 on top of the $100 service call to cover the distance. That is rare and it is not something to plan around.

Three towns are worth naming as outside: Moody, Alabaster and McCalla. If you are in one of those, this is not the right number, and it is better said here than after a phone call.

Where We Are

North of the city

North of the City

The home ground. Aaron is based here, most of his work is here, and the jobs are overwhelmingly laundry: washers and dryers, mostly lower to mid-range machines.

Gardendale

Home base, and where the van starts. One of the towns he works most often.

Appliance repair in Gardendale

Fultondale

Minutes from Gardendale and a regular stop.

Mount Olive

Another of the towns he is called to often.

Morris

Small, close, and squarely inside the area.

Kimberly

Same, and an easy run north.

Warrior

The northern edge of the regular area.

Birmingham zip codes

Birmingham

Everything from budget machines to mid-range, and the same laundry-heavy job mix as everywhere else on this map.

Aaron does not cover the whole city. These are the eleven zip codes he works: 35205, 35209, 35213, 35216, 35222, 35226, 35229, 35233, 35242, 35243 and 35244. If your zip is not on that list, call and ask rather than assume either way.

Over the Mountain

Over the Mountain

The one part of the map where the appliances change. The machines here run mid to higher end.

Hoover

One of the towns he works most often, and the largest market on this side of the mountain.

Appliance repair in Hoover

Vestavia Hills

Mid to higher-end appliances.

Mountain Brook

Mid to higher-end machines.

Homewood

Mid to higher-end machines, mostly laundry calls.

Appliance repair in Homewood

Cahaba Heights

Part of Vestavia Hills, and usually just called Cahaba. Near Highway 119 and off 280.

Brook Highland, Meadowbrook, Lake Purdy, Highland Lakes and Indian Springs Village are all covered too. Aaron's own note is that these are communities rather than towns, sitting near Highway 119 and off Highway 280, and most people refer to the whole area as Cahaba.

East and south

East and South

Trussville

The widest range of appliances on the map: budget machines through to high end.

Appliance repair in Trussville

Irondale

Mostly mid-range machines, laundry work.

Appliance repair in Irondale

Pelham

The newest housing on this map, median build year 2001, so the machines are at the age where repair-or-replace is a real question.

Appliance repair in Pelham

Helena

The southern edge of the regular area.

Further out

Towns He Covers But Does Not Advertise

Three towns sit in an honest middle. Aaron will take work in them and has, but they are far enough out that he would rather not advertise for more.

Leeds

A little further than the regular run. He takes the occasional job there.

Dora and Sumiton

Further west, and the towns he grew up in and near. He takes the occasional job there; call and ask.

If you are in one of those three and you have found this page, call. The answer is more likely to be yes than no; it just is not somewhere he is chasing work.

What varies

The One Thing That Actually Varies by Town

Most appliance companies write a different page for every town and the pages are identical underneath. What actually changes across this map, and what does not:

What does not change

What does not change: the job. Washers and dryers are the most common call in every single town on this list, without exception. The service call is $100 everywhere inside the area, the warranty is ninety days everywhere, and Aaron does the work himself everywhere.

What does change

What does change is the machines. North of the city and out east you are mostly looking at lower to mid-range appliances. Over the Mountain, and in parts of Trussville and Pelham, the machines run mid to higher end. If you are not sure whether yours is one Aaron takes, call or text and he will tell you on the phone.

And the drive time

The other thing that changes is drive time, and it is the reason the boundary is where it is. A one-man business absorbs every mile itself. Thirty minutes is not a marketing radius; it is the distance at which he can still get to the next customer.

The Thing That Really Does Vary, and It Is Not What You Would Guess

Asked whether he sees a difference between towns, Aaron says he is not really sure that he does, and the utility's own data says that is the correct answer.

Central Alabama Water, 2025 range: 38 to 224 Towns on their own wells
01

Four plants, two rivers, one number that is not one number

Central Alabama Water, which supplies most of this service area, publishes total hardness anywhere between 38 and 224 milligrams per liter in its 2025 testing. The top of that range is nearly six times the bottom, and it happens because four filtration plants draw on two different river systems. The utility's 2016 report prints the plants separately and you can see it: 74, 74, 144 and 138.

02

Which is why nobody can tell you your town's hardness

Your number depends on which plant fed your street, and that is a question about plumbing rather than zip codes. Two houses in the same town can sit on different plants. Any company that quotes you a single figure for your town is quoting something the utility does not publish.

03

The towns that are genuinely different

Four towns here are off the metro system and run their own supplies. Trussville publishes a total hardness of 152 and Irondale 230, both from their own wells. Pelham publishes its own range, and Helena's wells have been sampled by the state. Those are the places where a town-level number means anything at all, and each town's page carries its own figures.

04

What it actually does to your machines

Less than the industry claims. Aaron does find mineral on washer inlet valve screens, and on the water inlet valve of a refrigerator where the line connects. Asked how often a dishwasher complaint turns out to be hard water rather than a fault, his answer was one word: never.
