What We Fix on GE
By appliance, taken from what Aaron actually finds on GE machines rather than from a manual.
What GE Machines Are Like to Work On
GE parts are held locally
GE parts are held locally, so a confident phone diagnosis usually means the part travels with him.
Three to ten years old, with plenty older
Most GE machines he works on are between three and ten years old, with plenty older.
Is It Worth Keeping?
GE sits close behind Whirlpool for the same reason: the parts are here. Most of what fails on a GE is a belt, an element, a pump, a sensor or a switch, and none of those is a reason to buy a new machine.
The one that turns is a control board on an older unit, and on a GE dishwasher it is worth confirming the pressure sensor first, since a dirty one produces the same error a failed board would.

What It Costs
$100 service call, and it comes off the repair.
No published prices past that. GE parts are easy to get here, so what moves the number is which part failed rather than how long it takes to find one.
You get the figure before any work begins.
How the Visit Goes
Three to Ten-Plus Years, and a Machine That Tells You Something
The GE machines he gets called to run about three to ten years old and beyond, a tighter band than the Whirlpool-family brands and a younger one.
GE also has a habit the other badges here do not share to the same degree: when it fails, it usually says something. An FTD or an H2O code on a GE dishwasher points at the pressure sensor, often a dirty one rather than a dead one.
That matters more than it sounds. A code read over the phone can turn a two-visit job into a one-visit job, because the part is decided before anyone drives out and GE parts are easy to get here. If your machine is showing a code, have it ready when you call. GE is also the widest badge on this site by appliance: laundry, dishwashers, ranges and refrigerators all turn up wearing it.
GE Puts the Model Plate in More Places Than Any Other Brand
This is genuinely different from the other badges here. GE does not publish one location per appliance, it publishes several, because the plate moved around across model generations.
A GE model number always begins and ends with a letter, which rules out most of the numbers stuck to a machine. And on a range, the number will not end in a digit preceded by a P, because that is the caution label rather than the model tag.

What Customers Say
Every review Aaron has, live from Google, in the customer's own words and under their own name.
Questions We Get Asked
The dishwasher is showing FTD or H2O. What is that?
Usually the pressure sensor, and usually it needs cleaning rather than replacing. Read the code out when you call and it narrows the job before anyone drives out.
Which GE appliances do you work on?
GE laundry, dishwashers, ranges and refrigerators, across the standard lines. If you are not sure which line yours is, text us a photo of the model plate and we will tell you before anyone drives out.
What is the service call?
$100, applied to the repair.
How soon can you come?
Often a day or two. Call before noon and same day is sometimes possible.
Is there a warranty?
Ninety days, parts and labor, on the repair we did. Replacement boards excluded.
Every service this brand comes up on
Each of these has its own page with the faults, the parts reality and the model-plate location for that badge.
